Memories of Cape Breton was Isla’s final project for her MMus Scottish Music degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It was inspired by the 4 months that she spent in Cape Breton at the end of 2019, in particular her experience of Cape Breton sessions. The project consists of a 30-minute recital that combines Cape Breton session tunes with original compositions inspired by Isla’s experiences on the island. The recital is accompanied by a list of Cape Breton session repertoire collated by Isla.
